Opera Choruses Workshop
Saturday 7 March 2020 11–4.30
Wood Room, St Pancras Church Hall, High Street, Lewes BN7 1QX
Come and enjoy singing some of the great opera choruses, ranging from Handel’s Acis and Galatea (which NSO are preparing for 6 performances around Sussex in May/June) through Mozart’s Idomeneo, Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, Rossini’s William Tell, plus works by Verdi and Wagner.
Music will be provided (so it’s useful to have some music-reading ability), and we will sing in Italian and German as well as English. Nick Houghton is the new Chorus Master of New Sussex Opera (NSO) and will be leading us through the day, as well as conducting Acis and Galatea this year. Susan Bain will accompany on the piano.
Organised by New Sussex Opera – all welcome (including non-members) but numbers are limited, so book early.
